Let me update you on what is happening in our local area.
Beer and wine sales for Restaurants was recently approved in Fannin county. Because of religious convictions and high moral standards, Fannin had been a dry county since 1854. It has taken imbibers over 150 years to get beer and wine sales approved and a little 'shine' can still be found in a some refrigerators --for medicinal purposes of course. Thirteen restaurants have already submitted applications for Beer and wine sales permits.
Many local business owners feel beer and wine sales will stimulate the local economy. Some church goers and other local folks think that restaurant beer and wine sales will degrade the quaintness and un-worldliness of the county culture. Differences in opinion are voiced weekly in the local newspaper and are quite entertaining.
